Mid - Century Desk Makeover

Hey Ya'll.. I'm sharing a quick make over project from a recent curbside find. It always amazes me what people will just put to the curb. I guess that's good for us though to create easy and mostly free makeovers.

This is the cutest mid - century designed desk made by Sears. It was in great shape with sturdy legs and clean drawers. The label was still on the back ( no photo).

Here is the new and improved version.

It just got a good cleaning and then I primed all the surfaces that were going to be painted. I chose to make the color bright and fun. This is Ocean Mist in gloss by Rust - Oleum.

I did leave the top original just to give the desk a protected surface that was original.

The legs were just cleaned along with the hardware and put back on.

This was a easy, quick and almost free project. With just a can of spray paint and a little time you can give a throw away piece of furniture a second life.

What have you made over from the curb lately?

Old Door Hook Hanger

Hey Ya'll ! It's been awhile since my last post but I am determined to more active with sharing what I have been up to this year. First up is a entrance hook hanger made from a piece of an old door.

Can you see all that chippy goodness? This was the top half of an old door that I got from a flea market.
I turned the door horizontal and added 2 banister pieces with old roofing nails. This gave the door more support.

The middle was a little to plain for me so I added a "Blessing" sign that I had.

A few hooks on the bottom and this project was complete.

I love how this turned out and it was really simple to complete.

I did add a hanger to the back of the door.

Just a few more pictures.

The best part is how quickly this SOLD at Vintage Living Marketplace.
It went to a new home the first day I had it at the shop!

Until next time.

Thanks for stopping by,
