Well it has been a busy few weeks around here lately getting ready for upcoming shows. I will be at a participating vendor this week for Saturday's Vintage Vibe in downtown Bartow. One finished project is a sign made from old fence boards.
A few weeks back a neighbor was replacing a fence so naturally Mike went to gather up most of the old one from the curb. Lucky Us!! It was aged, grayed and beautiful.
I used some of it to make a few signs by combining the fence and junk.
This one is my favorite so far and perfect for Valentines Day.
Mike cut some hearts from scrap corrugated rusty metal and then I added junky elements for the word LOVE.
I liked the little bit of red in the door knob so we added a few red hearts as well.
For the rest of the letters we used a ruler from a flea market for the "L", some bike chain formed the "V" and a piece of scroll formed a perfect "E".
I left the top of the fence boards just like we found them. A little broken and uneven but they work perfectly in this project.
The little red bench was also found by a different curb and was part of a picnic table set.
It was broken on one leg but we just re-bolted it and now it is the perfect red chippy bench.
The sign does have a hanger on the back to place on a wall, but I like it propped with my bench.
Thanks for stopping by,
