I hope everyone had a great weekend! I'm starting to get a little jealous of all the Northern people that have had cooler temperatures and are decorating for fall. It's still going to be in the 90's here for a few more weeks. UGH!!
A while back we acquired a piano and bench from one of Mike's co-workers. It had been sitting out on their porch and was ready for the curb so of course I had to go rescue it. The keys stick and it really isn't in any shape to play so for now it's tucked into the corner of our family room waiting to be re-purposed one day.
I REALLY want to make it into a piano bar but that project is on hold for awhile.
The BENCH on the other hand took just a few hours to have a total upgrade.
It started out in pretty rough shape and the cushion was really dirty.
It was a simple project to complete. I removed the seat and the bottom piece.
The wood was in rough shape which I didn't mind. I usually distress everything but for this I wanted a smooth un-distressed finish. I wanted a neutral color so I chose Coastal Pleasure. This was the free paint sample from Ace a few weeks back. I also got a yard of fabric on sale at Hobby Lobby in a bright, colorful pattern.
I have NO sewing skills but this was easy no sew. I just removed the old fabric and replaced it with the new by stapling it all the way around. The bottom piece and the inside of the top I painted black. Then I just reassembled the top onto the bench bottom.
Now I think it is bright and colorful.
A pretty new bench for sitting and a little storage.
Enjoy your week.
Thanks for stopping by,
P.S. I will now be doing Two For Tuesday On Pinterest through my FACEBOOK page
