Well the past year has flown by and I just realized that I've been writing this little ole blog for a year! I can't believe that it has been that long. I have come so far and have learned so much both about blogging and about myself. I have even made a few new "friends" along the way.
To think I didn't even know what Pinterest, Hometalk, Bloglovin and Twitter were back then. I have learned a lot about Facebook too. I'm still working my way up to Instagram though, just not enough time in the day for all this "SOCIAL" media stuff, especially since I work a full time job also.
I thought I would share a few of my favorite projects starting with this one. It was my first try at building a table. I'm happy to say that it also sold very quickly!
These pictures are not so great. In the beginning I knew nothing about editing, cropping, lighting and so forth.
My pictures are slowly improving hopefully thanks to PicMonkey and a few tips I have acquired along the way. My goal for this year is a better camera then my point and shoot, but I'm trying my best with what I got.
I have completed many projects using pallets. This was one of my first.
Pictures still not the greatest yet, but the coffee table is! My feet are on it right now and it has gained a special place in our home. maybe because it can hold a lot of stuff and still looks good.
My most popular post to date hands down is ....
I think the picture is so much better and I even added my blog name! That's progress. Now I just need to take the time to make an official watermark.
Of course I couldn't do all this without the encouragement and support from my partner in crime, Mike.
He is always there with ideas, inspiration and a helping hand. It is great to have someone to share projects with and give you encouragement to try something new. Some projects have gone more smoothly then others, but we always work them out together and love them in the end.
This was one of the first projects we have completed together. I love the way it turned out.
Mike also makes many pieces on his own. All from recycled metals.
His favorite thing to make are bar stools/ man cave chairs. Gotta admit they are pretty cool!
One of the biggest changes in the past year was a new blog design that I love.
If you look back at some of the older posts (and I hope you do) they make look a little quirky. But it was fun to go back and see just how far I have come in the past year.
If you are visiting for the first time, WELCOME!! I'm so glad you are here!
If you have been here before and came back, A BIG THANK YOU to you!!
I hope to bring more inspiration and unique ideas your way. I also would love to grow both with blogging and in my DIY skills.
I think of myself as a DIYer in training and after my first year I think I have learned a few new skills and techniques. Maybe I can promote myself soon and get rid of the training wheels and ride with the big girls!!
Enjoy your day and THANKS for stopping by,
