I must admit that I really don't do a lot of decorating for holidays. But I did manage to make a simple scrap wood sign and updated a few thrifty finds for the 4th of July.
It was really simple to make. I used a piece of scrap wood, a few left over metal stars, and rope.
The board was painted white and then I painted the USA in red and blue. I always trace my letters from stencils then paint in. The stars were just re- spray painted in red, white and blue and then screwed onto the board. The board does have splits on each side but they are superficial and give the board a rustic feel.
A little sanding when dry and drilling a hole for the rope hanger and it was complete.
This great white rocking chair is one of two that Mike found by someone's curb! The other one is missing the rocking parts and they both need to be repainted but they will work for now.
The flag tray and wagon were thrift store finds. I just roughed them up a little to give them some character. To the flag tray I also attached wooden legs to give it some height when placed on a table.
I added some red and white flowers to my rusty plant stand and now the back yard is ready to celebrate.
Or maybe just Murphy is ready to celebrate!
All American Pug!
I did move the pieces inside to my piano mantel to spruce it up a little.
Excuse the mirrored background. Unfortunately that is something that we can't change.
A few simple projects to add a little color and American Pride.
Enjoy your weekend.
