Pallet Love Sign

Love Is All You Need...

All You Need Is Love...

A simple pallet project with paint, metal hearts and contact paper.

First I cut the top of a pallet off in one complete piece. I added two pieces of furring strip to the top and bottom halves to fill in a little space.

I wanted to do a simple sign, not necessarily just for Valentine's, but one that can be displayed all year.

The pallet was just painted white. The letters I did from stencil and hand painted.I outlined the letters with a paint pen for more detail.  The pallet board that showed in between I just left as-is.

For the top and bottom I applied contact paper that I found at the dollar store. It was a black and white floral print, that's why I chose to add some black lettering.

The contact paper worked pretty well. It stated on the directions not to apply to rough surfaces- Ha Ha- with a little sanding the pallet surface was pretty smooth. I overlapped the paper on the back so it basically sticks to itself.

The finishing touch was just to apply a few silver metal hearts left over from previous projects.

This turned out to be a pretty big sign but it displays a lot of love.

I think this sign is simply stating that LOVE IS ALL YOU NEED..and would also be a perfect wedding, anniversary, birthday or yes even a Valentine gift.

For now it is propped on my piano/mantle and it reminds me everyday of the simple things and makes me smile.

Hoping everyone has a wonderful weekend!

  7. Hey! I found you on the I Gotta Create link up. I am obsessed with Pallets. I have so many projects that I want to do. My husband didn't want our garage cluttered with pallets at our old place. Now that we've bought a house I'm excited to be able to starting doing some projects. This is super cute!

  8. I saw a DIY for a pallet wood rack. Whoever said that using pallets is the new trend is definitely right. I love it. Between these and DIY crate crafting you've got enough material to blog all year 'round.

Also, I'm hosting a giveaway on my blog (it ends Tuesday) if you'd like to come back by and check it out that would be excellent!
