Mike did have a little technical difficulty tonight and had to work on his welder.
But things were then back to normal and flowers were being created. The center was from ac vent dampers and were white in color. After treatment to remove the paint, they turn rusty.
Mike then welds petals created from scrap ac unit panels. They were cut with a plasma cutter and then made rusty.
The finished flower turned out beautiful. It is 6 feet tall, with about 1 foot going into the ground for balance and stability. There is also a foot peg welded on to step on in order to push in the ground.
Th areas that show the welds just give a little more detail and add some interesting texture. This is the back-side of the flower.
The leaves were cut with the plasma cutter by hand and are one of a kind.
Some of the other pieces that were recently re-purposed include a craftsman air compressor.
This will be another completed piece this week.
Mike has really created some beautiful flowers and garden art from scrap metals.
Beauty is truly in the eyes of the beholder.
Have a wonderful week.
