Mantel and Pallet Tree Update

Well I finally got around to putting up our pallet tree. I even acquired an awesome upgrade in the form of a little red wagon.

This little beauty was heading for the dumpster last weekend because the front wheels had broken off. Of course Mike grabbed it and he had it fixed in about 10 minutes!!

It is still like new but I plan on leaving it outside to become an old rusty beauty.

The rest of the tree pretty much looks the same. I added white lights and used a white sheet to  cover the wagon. It is pretty when lit at night and the rest of the room is dark.

I also did a little change to my piano mantel. I didn't add to much to it but managed to hang my Merry and Bright Star and add a few simple touches.

The wall behind is mirrored- see me taking picture- I kept some family photos and added little hints of silver and red.

Our ceramic snowmen even were able to come back, along with our Popsicle stick manger.

Lastly, since we don't have a fireplace or a mantel, hanging stockings has always been a challenge. So I made a quick sign from scrap boards, added a few hooks and now they have a designated place of their own.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting my little updates. It's still hard to get in the spirit of Christmas when it's 80 plus degrees out, but my few simple decorations have put me in the holiday mood. Now to finally start on all that wrapping!!!

Have a blessed week,
