A Colorful Life

I have seen a few paintings of scrap wood and pallet painted suns and sayings lately and truly became inspired to create one of my own. I came across a scrap piece of wood that was perfect to paint upon. It is approx. 42 X 36 inches.

After some sanding and cleaning, the fun begins. First I started with a dry brush white and added a bright green color and a bright blue color. I also added a orange/red but didn't like the way it turned out , so back to the white, green and blue.

Yes I forgot to tape off the sun rays BEFORE the back round was painted. Can you tell this is all new to me and I'm learning as I go. Oh. well, like they say " You learn something new everyday!" So plan was taping the rays and outlining them and then painting with a yellow/ red mixture.

The picture below is after the rays and sun were painted.

It became a very colorful picture so I thought that life should be lived that way and life should be fun!

I love the way the final piece came out. It is bright, colorful and inspiring.

Thank you to all those sun shining wood paintings that have inspired me to create one of my own!!
